Bay of Islands

Endless sheltered bays, crystal clear waters, beautiful unspoilt bushlands, white sandy beaches… PARADISE !!!!!!!!!!

The Bay of Islands is New Zealand’s finest Maritime Park, and dolphins lazily swimming alongside Mission’s bow are a common sight. Many different types of fish, the big marlin, whales, penguins, gannets, and many other species are in this natural wonderland.

Explore the main islands of the bay: Roberton, Urupukapuka, and Motukiekle. Tramping trails are well marked across the islands, which give dramatic views of the coast and skyline, as they wind through forest and grasslands. Break the walk with a swim each time the trail meets the shore.

Then enjoy dinner watching a sunset that bathes the world in a breathtaking array of colours.

The choice of places to go here is only limited by the amount of time you can spend. A minimum of 3 days is required for an Auckland/Bay of Islands cruise.

This area is the warmest part of New Zealand with day/night temperatures averaging 24/17C night … 75/61F day in summer, (Dec/Mar) and 16/10C night … 61/50F day in winter. (June/August)
